Life Update #6: Fall Break Edition

On Wednesday when my last class was over, I went to Hillsboro and got lunch at the Grilled Cheeserie with Margaret. After we shopped in Altar’d State, I went thrifting for the first time with Margaret and actually got some quality items, including part of my Halloween costume. Wednesday night, I went to Cici’s and watched the Dark Knight (both for the first time in probably a decade) with some guys in RUF.

On Thursday, I went to Opry Mills and really made a day (or at least 6 hours) of it. I got a free Disney lanyard for opening the Disney store with a magic spell. I walked through Madame Tussaud’s and rode a large purple plush unicorn for 10 minutes. Then I had lunch at Chuy’s, which is sadly some of the best Tex-Mex in Nashville. Upon my server’s insistence, I snuck the remaining queso I had into the movie theater when I saw A Star is Born and indoor bungee jumped after the movie. Finally, I went to Dave & Buster’s, played some games, danced some Dance-Dance Revolution, and redeemed two fun animal rings as my prizes. That night, after eating dinner and doing a load of laundry and some homework, I went to Legendairy Milkshakes and spent 12 minutes taking self-timer photos with my milkshake until the pictures turned out to my satisfaction, which is coincidentally how much the milkshake cost before tax and tip.

On Friday, I went to Pancake Pantry for breakfast and got a waffle there for the first time. After that, I picked up 2 packages from the post office and had to use a dolly to transport them to my dorm since the packages contained essentially all of my fall/winter clothes. While putting away my clothes, I reorganized my clothes so that I have one dresser drawer solely dedicated to concert T-shirts, and it’s filling up fast. On Friday night, I saw Josh Groban and Idina Menzel in concert and they were both incredible. I’m definitely glad I got tickets to the concert only a few days before Friday.

Today, I slept until 11. Then, I happened upon a craft fair in Centennial Park for the second time over the past two weekends and later watched TV in my dorm for a few hours.

Overall, fall break has been a really nice break from classes and I still have had the opportunity to eat dinner at McGugin(the cafeteria in the athletic complex at Vandy) 3 times. I’m ready for all of my friends to be back on campus, though!
